An outstanding piece of highly skilled copper work . Newlyn / Cornish style . Executed in one piece of copper . Individual side pieces .probably a sign of the copper worker,s trade mark / symbols .Possibly Pearson . Its of the highest quality being mainly one piece of copper . Once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece as large as this and ever so rare . Riveted construction along the edges .On a par with ship building rivets . There are photos of the back showing the high level of skilled construction available . The copper is thick gauge and was resting on cardboard and dustsheets to protect it whilst being photographed . Its now on pillows and dustsheets upright against a wall . This would have been secured to a wall using screws as there is evidence of the screw holes up both sides . There is no evidence of soot as I believe this was made purely for decorative reasons . This may have been a specially commissioned piece as its the largest piece of copper work that I have seen apart from a painting frame but this has more volume of copper . All of the above and advert is my opinion .
