Wetland Scene Cake Stand – Pinder Bourne c.1880

We have for sale a rather lovely and very decorative Victorian earthenware cake stand or tazza by the Burslem manufacturer Pinder Bourne & Co. This striking cake stand is sumptuously decorated with 3 silver leaf birds in a blue and white wetland scene with gold leaf foliage. The cake plate is faintly marked to the reverse with the Pinder Bourne impressed mark and the pattern number 806 dating to the piece to around 1880. The cake plate is 9.75 inches (24.8cm) in diameter, 2.25 inches (5.7cm) high, and is in a very good antique condition other than the craquelure typical of Pinder Bourne earthenware of the period
