A rare pair of arts and crafts painted chargers by Doulton. Impressed Doulton on the back together with the printed mark that can be used to date these chargers. Hand painted with a flowing arts and crafts design. Very bold , flowing and harking back to medievalism albeit in a modern way. Doulton employed many artists and even though there is no monogram or initials one could suggest; Harry Simeon or more likely Florrie Jones. Even though Alfred Powell did similar designs for Wedgwood he is not known to have designed for Doulton. Diameter is 30 cm. Height is 4 cm. One would say; Faience Stoneware
