Vintage Sterling Silver Guilloche Enamel Poppies Powder Compact Birmingham 1956

On offer is this most attractive English powder compact fully hallmarked to the inside of the powder well for Birmingham 1956 with the makers mark T&S for the prestigious silversmith, Turner & Simpson. This powder compact measures 7.5cm in diameter and has solid silver base with fine machine turned pattern. The lovely lid has pure white guilloche enamel with silver border and features a motif of budding and full bloom with foliage and stems. This compact has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a framed glass mirror under the lid and open powder well in the base. This fine powder compact is offered in good condition. There are a few very light surface scratches to the enamel but there are no chips, cracks or flaking. The silver body is clean and untarnished and the base has a couple of light dings. The interior mirror is clear and reflective but there are a few dark marks and I cannot see any scratches either. The silver body is clean and untarnished. Thank you for looking.
