This is an interesting atmospheric watercolour beach scene by Samuel Prout, 1783-1852, dating to around 1820. Painted in sepia tones with limited colour palette, lovely detail. The painting is presented behind glass within a modern cream mount with double gold hand ruled border in a modern gilt wood frame.
